Purchase the wax ring and silicone caulk at your local hardware store. You can also purchase a toilet at these hardware stores. Some toilets come with all the hardware needed to install them while with others you'll have to buy the wax ring and bolts separately. Turn the bowl section of your new toilet upside down on some towels. Center the flat part of the wax ring over the drain horn on the bottom of the toilet bowl and press firmly. Take the rags out of the drain hole. Next, raise the toilet bowl up and set it over the flange, making sure that the bolt holes are positioned directly over the bolts. Carefully press down on the bowl to set it so a watertight seal is created.
